WVIK Community Calendar

River Action’s Riverine Walk Rock Island Hydropower Plant will be held at 9 a.m. at 5200 11th St., Rock Island.  Pre-registration is required; call 563-322-2969.

To celebrate their 31st anniversary, WVIK invites the community to the Brats and Brahms open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests will be able take tours, visit with staff members, be on hand during a special edition of Saturday Morning Live! and enjoy lunch for a small fee. Monarch butterfly workshops will be held at the Putnam Museum in Davenport at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. Bob Motz and Greg Wolf will present a slide show at 12:15 p.m. Attendees should bring a clear glass container with a lid with holes. The 10th Silvis Moonlight Festival and Parade will run until 10 p.m. featuring a craft show, a bags tournament, a kids' zone, entertainment, and the crowning of the Zinnia Princess. The Quad City Animal Welfare Center will host a Soggy Doggy Splash Party at the Milan Sprayground in Dickson Park from noon to 2 p.m. for dogs 20 inches and shorter and 2 to 4 p.m. for dogs taller than 20 inches. No puppies under the age of four months.  For information, call 309-787-6830.

Register today for the Quad City Arts Festival of Trees gingerbread village workshop will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the RiverCenter in Davenport.
