The Channel Cat Talk River Rafting Logs to QC Mills will begin at 9 a.m. at the Celebration Belle Landing in Moline.  Pre-registration is required; call 563-322-2969.

The second annual World on a Plate fundraiser will begin at 5 p.m. at the Putnam Museum in Davenport. Dr. Art Tate, Davenport mayor Gluba, Tara Barney, and Ken Croken will speak on the changing demographics of the area. Timber Lake Playhouse will cap off its 50th Anniversary season with the latest installment of a wildly popular Late Nite Catechism series.  Til’ Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3 will run for 12 performances August 25 to September 4.  For tickets or more information, call 815-244-2035.

As part of Bucktown’s Final Friday Event, the Afghan Women's Writing Project open mic will be held at 7 p.m. at the Midwest Writing Center in Davenport.  The event is open to the public.  Those interested in reading can visit the Afghan Women’s Project website to find an essay or poem to share.  For more information, call 563-324-1410.

Continuing through Sept. 17, the Augustana College Art Museum in Centennial Hall will display A Memorial Tribute to Jim Konrad, an exhibit of the artist's life work.  The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday.  For more information, call 309-794-7231.
