The 17th Annual Galesburg Heritage Days Living History Festival will be held Friday thru Sunday at Lake Storey Park, featuring a Civil War encampment and battle re-enactment, as well as a recreation of the pre-1840 early American colonial frontier.  The event is free and open to the public. Today and tomorrow, River Roots Live and Ribfest will take place at LeClaire Park in Davenport.  Rib vendors open at 11 a.m. both days.  On Friday, the music will be from 5:30 p.m. to midnight; and on Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight.  For more information, call 563-322-1706.

The Artlan Gallery in the Muscatine Center for Non-Profits will hold an opening reception for the exhibit of Art Works by Carlos A Duran from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. The exhibit will run thru September 16th.  For more information, call 563-554-1004.

First Lutheran Church in Rock Island will host an open-mic coffeehouse  beginning at 7 p.m. Musicians and poets are welcome.  Proceeds will benefit the St. Joe's Evening Meal program at Rock Island Township.  For more information, call 309-788-9661.

The Richmond Hill Players will present the musical The Spitfire Grill at the Barn Theater in Geneseo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. For tickets or more information, call 309-944-2244.

Tomorrow and Sunday, the Clay and Fiber Fest will be held in Bishop Hill featuring pottery workshops, spinning, weaving, broom-making, and other hands-on activities.  For more information, call 309-927-3008.

Tomorrow, New Ground Theatre will host readings of one-act plays Bad Habits, Malnati Mondays, and The Long Journey to Our Shortcomings at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Theatre in Davenport.  The audience can vote for the plays they feel should be produced.
