The Channel Cat Talk River Rafting Logs to QC Mills will begin at 9 a.m. at the Celebration Belle Landing in Moline. The program will be repeated Thursday morning.  Pre-registration is required; call 563-322-2969.

Opening today and continuing through Sept. 17, the Augustana College Art Museum in Centennial Hall will display A Memorial Tribute to Jim Konrad, an exhibit of the artist's life work.  The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday.  For more information, call 309-794-7231.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences’ book discussion group will meet at Benningan’s in Bettendorf at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Serpent of Light Beyond 2012, by Drunvalo Melchizedek.  The event is free and open to the public.

The Henry County Humane Society will hold a Dog Days of Summer picnic and ice cream social at City Park in Geneseo.  Food will available starting at 5 p.m.  The River City 6 will play at 7 p.m.  For more information, call 309-945-2916.

The deadline to apply for the Midwest Writing Center’s Fall Poetry Workshop Series is Wednesday, August 24th. Those interested in attending the six-session series with award-winning poet Shane McCrae must complete the online application form and send in two writing samples by that date. As part of Thursdays at the Figge, Ann Marie Hayes-Hawkinson and Lynn Gingras-Taylor will present New Activity Spaces for Families at 7 p.m. at the museum in Davenport. Also featured will be music by Ellis Kell beginning at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 563-326-7804.
