David Suda and Tyler Hennings will present a faculty colloquium titled Cultural Dissonances at 4 p.m. in the Barnes Electronic Classroom in Monmouth College’s Hewes Library.

A reception for the Rock Island Fine Arts Exhibition will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Centennial Hall of Augustana College. Awards will be announced at 5:40 p.m. For more information, call 309-794-7231

An April Fool's Gallery Hop! will take place in The District of Rock Island from 5 to 9 p.m. Galleries, shops, clubs, and restaurants will host local artists and musicians. A free shuttle will be available.  For more information, call 309-788-6311.

The Friends' spring book fair will be held at the Bettendorf Library through Sunday. Friday's sale from 5 to 7:30 p.m. is for members only; memberships can be purchased at the door. A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer, dramatic readings from a collection edited by Eve Ensler for mature audiences, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Rogalski Center Ballroom of St. Ambrose University.
