Guest conductor Carl Topilow will host Inside the Music, a casual discussion of the Quad City Symphony Masterworks V concerts this weekend at 5 p.m. at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport. For more information, call 563-322-0931

Rivermont Collegiate invites all Quad City students and their families to attend a College Night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Guest speaker Eric Rowell, Director of Career Development at Augustana College, will provide advice to students preparing for college.  The event is free and open to the public.

The Rock Island Library will show the independent film Only When I Dance at 6 p.m.  A brief discussion will follow. The film is unrated and may not be suitable for children. For more information, call 309-732-7323.

On Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., the Dubuque Symphony will present works by Bach and Mozart at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque.  The Dubuque Chorale will join the symphony to perform Magnificat, one of Bach’s greatest chorale works.  For more information, visit the Dubuque Symphony website.

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra will perform works by Plog, Williams, Daugherty, and Holst as part of their Masterworks V concert.  The concert will be held at 8 p.m. at the Adler Theatre in Davenport on Saturday, and at 2 p.m. in Augustana College’s Centennial Hall on Sunday.
