Tuesday, May 3

Four bands will play for a Kids Helping Kids ServeHaiti fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Redstone Room of River Music Experience in Davenport.  Proceeds will go toward supplies and resources for the children of Haiti. For more information, call 563-326-1333.

Tonight, Thursday and Friday, United Township High School in East Moline will present the play The Sting at 7 p.m.  For more information, call 309-752-1633.

To celebrate the publication of the St. Ambrose Journal of Creative Arts, a Quercus reading and art show will begin at 7 p.m. on the third floor of Ambrose Hall. Authors will read their poetry and fiction, and artists will display their works. For more information, call 563-333-6176.

On Thursday, the annual Salute to Seniors will be held from 9:15 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Starlite Ballroom in the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport. There will be music and dance performances, plus exhibits on Davenport's 175th anniversary.

On Thursday, a fundraiser for Farm2Fork will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the lower quad outside the Tredway Library of Augustana College, featuring music, games, healthy food, and eco-friendly merchandise. Proceeds will go toward a biodiesel truck for Augustana's Farm2Fork and Augie Acres. For more information, call 563-676-1525.

As this year's Folwell Lecture, Rev. James Schall will present On the 'Uselessness' of Philosophers: Or, Why Should I Listen to Lectures When I Can Read? at 5:30 p.m. at Rogalski Center of St. Ambrose University. A reception will follow.

The St. Ambrose University-Community Symphony Orchestra will perform works by Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Handel and Khataturian at 7:30 p.m. at the Galvin Fine Arts Center of St. Ambrose University. Call 563-333-6251.
