The Rock Island Arsenal Women’s Club will hold a Cards for the Troops night at the rock island arsenal golf club beginning at 6:30 p.m. Participants will make greeting cards for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Seating is limited. For more information or to RSVP, call 563-332-5707.

The Environmental Book Club discussion of You Are Here: Exposing the Vital Link Between What We Do and What That Does to the Planet by Thomas Kostigen will be held at 7 p.m. at River Action in Davenport. For information, call 563-322-2969.

Dan Dagget, founder and president of EcoResults!, will give a talk From Ecoradical to Conservative Environmentalist at 7 p.m. in the Francois Room of the Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center of Knox College in Galesburg. The lecture is free and open to the public.

As part of the Big Read series featuring Fahrenheit 451, the Moline Public Library will screen the documentary Ray Bradbury: An American Icon at 7:00 p.m. No registration required. For more information, call 309-524-2440.

Motivational speaker Carlos Ojeda Jr. will continue Monmouth College’s observation of Latino Heritage Month with a lecture in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room in the Stockdale Center entitled What Do You Know About Latino Heritage? The talk is free and open to the public.

Tomorrow, representatives from the German American Heritage Center will be at the Specifically for Seniors event at 1:00 p.m. at the Davenport Fairmount St. Library to discuss the newly expanded German American Heritage Center. For more information, call 563-888-3371.

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra and pianist Gustavo Romero will perform at 8 p.m. at the Adler Theatre in Davenport on Saturday and at 2 p.m. at Centennial Hall of Augustana College.
