Today and Thursday morning, the Channel Cat Talk Quad Cities Railroad History and Railroad Bridges will begin at 9 a.m. at the Celebration Belle Landing in Moline. Pre-registration is required; call 563-322-2969.

The Rock Island Preservation Society will hold a Gardens at Hauberg tour at 6 p.m. at Hauberg Civic Center in Rock Island. The event will feature a potluck picnic and areas not regularly accessed by the public.

The Society for Creative Anachronism will present a medieval combat demonstration for ages 10 and up at 6 p.m. at the Rock Island Library Ridgewood branch.  Attendees will watch sparring and learn to make replica weapons and how they were used.  For information, call 309-732-7360.

River Action’s Riverine Walk Quad Cities Railroad History will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Centennial Bridge Visitors Center in Rock Island.  The program will be repeated Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the same location.  Pre-registration is required; call 563-322-2969.

Today thru Sunday, the Train Festival will be held at 1st Avenue and 18th Street in Rock Island. It will feature train excursions, model railroad layouts, small ride-on trains for kids and adults, a children's activity area, and more.
