Today thru Sunday, the 39th annual Barnes Family Bluegrass Festival will be held at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Aledo.  Proceeds will benefit the Children's Therapy Center of the Quad Cities.  The music line up and other details are available on the Barnes Family Bluegrass Festival website.

Today thru Sunday, the annual Milan Indian Summer Festival will be held at Dickson Park, featuring music, activites and a parade at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

A reception for the Jennifer Bock-Nelson exhibit will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. in Monmouth College’s Len G. Everett Gallery.  The artist will speak about her works at 3:15 p.m. The exhibit will continue thru Sept. 30.

The First Fridays Art Stroll in LeClaire will feature artists, performers, and special events at various locations around the downtown from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Today thru Sunday, the 39th Orion Fall Festival will be held at Central Park featuring bands, an Orion's Got Talent show, a 10-mile run and a fun run, a carnival, and a parade at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds will go to the community. For more information, call 309-526-8299.

The Mississippi Valley Blues Society will present Kid Ramos and The 44s performing from 9 p.m.-midnight at The Muddy Waters in Bettendorf. For more information, call 563-355-0655.

Next Thursday, University of Illinois Extension in Milan is offering a program on tagging and releasing Monarch Butterflies at 10 a.m.  Registration is required and is due by Friday, September 2.  For more information, call 309-756-9978 ext. 19.

Timber Lake Playhouse will cap off its 50th Anniversary season with the latest installment of a wildly popular Late Nite Catechism series.  Til’ Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3 will run until September 4.  For tickets or more information, call 815-244-2035.
