The Rock Island-Milan School District will be hosting a meeting for parents of home-schooled students who live in the district at 1:00 p.m. at the Administration Center in Rock Island. The Bettendorf Library will show the documentary Dare Not Walk Alone at 6:30 p.m. as part of their Civil Rights Project. The film covers St. Augustine, Florida demonstrations which immediately preceded the signing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and includes rare footage of Martin Luther King, Jr. For more information, call 563-344-4175.

Augustana's 150th Anniversary Hometown Celebration will begin at 6 p.m. at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island. It will include performances by the Augustana Choir and Symphonic Band, poetry readings, a Viking Pride ice cream social, and fireworks at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 309-794-7721.

Opening today and running through the end of October, Art at the Airport will feature the studio furniture of Jennifer Costa and the paintings of Steve Amos. The Moline Airport offers one hour free parking for those wishing to visit the gallery.
