The Mississippi Valley Blues Society Education Committee welcomes Johnnie Billington for a Black History Month Blues in the Schools residency for the week of February 8-12. He will present workshops in numerous Quad-City area schools, as well as giving the following free public performances - on Wed., 7 p.m. at Mojo’s in the RME, on Thurs. Feb. 11, 5 p.m. at United Neighbors in Davenport, on Fri. 4 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Rock Island.


On February 11th and 13th at 7:00 p.m., the Augustana chapter of Alpha Psi Omega will present their annual performances of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues in Wallenberg Hall. Tickets will be available at the door or by calling 309-794-7236.

Ballet Quad Cities will present Love Stories - A Performance of Mixed Repetoire February 13 and 14 at the Capitol Theater in Davenport. Saturday's performance begins at 7:30 pm, with Sunday's at 2. The show will feature original works by five choreagraphers.

The Red Cross is looking for additional volunteers to help at the Red Cross Family Safety Day at the River Center in Davenport on Saturday March 6th. For information, call 309-786-1466 ext. 108.

The Quad City Health Initiative Wellness Champions will launch Moon Walk 2010 on April 16. Moon Walk 2010 will pit the Quad Cities against teams from Peoria and Champaign-Urbana in a virtual community race equivalent to a trip to the moon.
