Thursday, November 24

The Turkey Trot will be held at the Davenport Family YMCA. The 1-mile fun run starts at 8:30 a.m.; the 5-mile run/walk is at 9 a.m. Call 563-322-7171.

Beginning Friday and over the next two weekends, the Julmarknad Christmas Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Bishop Hill. Attractions include Swedish folk characters, music, food, crafts, and antiques. For more information, call 309-927-3345.

Lamplight tours of the Ulysses S. Monday, November 28

The new RiverShare catalog is now available and the Rock Island Public Library will offer a series of classes to help patrons.  The first will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the Rock Island Southwest Branch.  Another will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Main Library. Black Hawk College music students are wrapping up the semester with a series of free concerts.  The first is a Piano Recital tonight at 7:30 at the Deere-Wiman house in Moline.  On Sunday, the Youth and Adult String Orchestras Concert will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline at 5 p.m.  And next Monday, a Vocal Recital will be at 7:30 also at the Deere-Wiman house.
