A Know Your Worth financial workshop for women will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Royal Neighbors of America in Rock Island. School-aged children may attend a free Money Bunny lesson while you attend Know Your Worth. Registration is required, call 309-732-8348.

As part of the Global Gathering Brazil series, the Bettendorf Library will show the 2005 film House of Sand at 6:30 p.m.  For more information, call 563-344-4175.

The bands of Central, West, and North high schools and Davenport middle schools will perform at the Band Spectacular at 7 p.m. at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport.

Laura M. Hartman will present Bus vs. Train: Ethics in Transit at 7:30 p.m. in Room 102 in the Hanson Hall of Science of Augustana College.  There will be time for questions, answers, and discussion.

Tomorrow, the Terry Hanson Ensemble, student performers, and surprise guests will play for Moondance for Karli Rose Kell from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Redstone Room of River Music Experience in Davenport.  Proceeds will benefit the Karli Rose Kell Music Scholarship Fund. On Thursday, Dr. Michael Shermer, founding publisher of Skeptic magazine and director of the Skeptics Society, will talk about Why People Believe Weird Things at 7 p.m. in the Olin Center of Augustana College.

Alleman High School in Rock Island will present the musical The Sound of Music at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, and at 4 p.m. on Sunday.  For more information, call 309-786-7793.

The Association of Fund Raising Professionals is holding their Fall Conference Workshop presented by national author and consultant, Laura Fredricks who will discuss Creating the Environment for Major Gifts beginning at 8 a.m. in the Jumer’s Casino Conference Center.  Registration forms are available at afpquadcities.com.

Davenport Parks and Recreation will hold a Senior Coffee at the Conservatory in Vander Veer Botanical park beginning at 10 a.m. featuring their Fall Color Show.  Preregistration is not required.  For further information, call 563-326-7812.

Throughout October, pumpkins will be for sale and displayed in the outside gardens and Sun Garden of the Quad City Botanical Center.  Scarecrows are also on exhibit, along with a hay bale maze. There will be special family events on Sunday afternoons 1 to 4 p.m. in the outer gardens and event canopy.
