Tuesday, July 20

Today and Thursday morning, as part of River Action's
Explore the River series, the Channel Cat Talk will be
Moline’s Great Wall beginning at 9:00 a.m. Departure is
from the Moline Channel Cat landing. For more information,

The German American Heritage Museum will be offering free
workshops on the German Immigrant Experience to local
teachers today at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the center in
Davenport. Additional sessions will be held on July 27th.

Karaoke Family Fun Night will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at
the Davenport Fairmount St. Library. For more information,

The annual Scott County Historical Society ice cream social
will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Historic Summit Church
in Davenport. The Chordbusters will perform at 6:45 p.m.
Proceeds will go toward the maintenance of the church.
The film Panther, a dramatized account of the story of The
Black Panther Party, will be shown at 6:30 p.m. at the
Bettendorf Public Library. The film will be introduced by
Michael Dixon, St. Ambrose’s Coordinator of Intercultural

Josh Duffee and His Orchestra will perform for the
Starlight Revue Concert at Lincoln Park in Rock Island at

Volunteers are needed for this year's Bix 7 Road Race.
Volunteers must be at least 11 years old and will help put
on the race on Saturday, plus the Quick Bix, kids race,

Wednesday, July 21

Story Teller Indiana Bones will be at the Moline Library
at 10:00 a.m. as they dig up old Greek Myths of Poseidon,

River Actions’ Riverine Walk will begin at the entrance to
Sylvan Island in Moline at 6:30 on Wednesday and at 9 a.m.

the FREE youth clinic on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Clarion

Conducted by Andy Schumm & His Gang, this 24-year old band

technique, musicianship, and improvisation.

Thursday, July 22

The 23rd annual Bix Porch Party will begin at 11:30 a.m.
at the Davenport Public Library. Don Estes and The Prairie

talk about how Davenport was once a bastion of de facto
segregation and how local events differed from the
